The Beat Surrender

Collaborations between Indie darlings and dance producers can go one of two ways, it can go down the Chemical Brothers route and come up with something cool such as their hits with Tim Burgess, Noel Gallagher and Bernard Sumner, or it can do the Junior Jack route as we saw on his joint effort with Robert Smith from The Cure.

Tiefschwarz has gone for the former option, the use of Chikinki (pictured) an inspired one, they have enough sass with electronic music themselves to know what was needed to make this a success. The vocals are spot on for this track, a dirty dancefloor mover that should be a hit with DJ’s.

Which makes it even stranger that the remix by Alter Ego on the other side dispenses with the vocals and goes instead for a tribal drumming acid thumper. Fortunately for him it works a treat and shows just what I know about producing music!
