Battles - Tonto EP

I have in the past struggled to get my head around Battles, their music and what they are actually trying to achieve at times. This EP doesn’t answer any questions or give me too much help in that department but it is a more than decent listen.

Tonto is a good track, very lengthy which allows the complex arrangements to come into their own, particularly the way it starts to slow down in the second half of the track, not sure about the weird indian chanting at the start though. Also on the EP you get a couple of excellent remixes especially the Four Tet one.

Tonto is taken from the bands album Mirrored and both are out now.
