Mogwai - Travel Is Dangerous
Oh it’s funny how opinions change isn’t it? I’d never really been that into Mogwai until the release of Mr Beast. I loved the first single and I found that I liked most of the album as well, I was prepared to be swayed.
When this single arrived though I couldn’t recall the track from the album, which suggested it hadn’t stuck out that much at the time. Listening to it again I can see why i’ve sometimes considered them overrated. This is droning prog rock that eventually builds into a half hearted grunge style chorus. Thankfully the vocals are low in the mix and actually add to the track.
The single is out now through PIAS.
