Geoff Westen - Vidiots - Tune In!!
Vidiots – Tune In!! is the 4th album from Geoff Westen and from the promotional material it sounds like he needed to give himself a kick up the backside to get out of his darkened room and get cracking on it. This is further evidenced in opening track Better Get Started which lyrically picks up on that theme and sets the template for the rest of the album.
The lyrics in the album are generally good and I don’t have any problems with them, vocally I find his voice neither here nor there, but my issues are with the music itself. It all just sounds so dated, like it’s caught in some sort of 80’s timewarp, I know a lot of bands have been influenced recently by this era, but please enough is enough.
The album is out now through Disturbing Music.
