Kasabian - Vlad The Impaler

Kasabian are one of thise bands that are loved by a lot of people yet dismissed by the smaller independent press in general, possibly due to the fact that they are a laddish group who are closer to the football terraces than they are to the plaid shirts and beardy heroes thath the press like to champion.

They won’t have done their cause any good then by launching the new England away kit recently, but a few harshly inked words are unlikey to daunt these lads as they’ve bounced back from a slightly below par second album to hit us with a brilliant third long player.

The latest release from the West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum album is the single and live favourite Vlad The Impaler, a track that bristles just below the surface as a dancefloor gem, deep percussion a driving rhythm and anthemic vocals adding up to a great 45.

Let’s hope they keep up this good form on their next album, not that we’ve seen the back of this one just yet of course as I would expect at least one more single from it.
