Good Shoes - We Are Not All The Same
Youthful exuberance is something usually used to describe a hyperactive child causing some sort of social faux pas at a party where kids shouldn’t really have been invited to in the first place. It could also be used to describe this affair, a song sounding extremely reminiscent of the The Jam in their early days when their vibrant and opinionated songs captured the imagination of a disaffected youth with something to say…or appealed to people who just liked damn good music and thankfully there are lots of us out there now and contrary to what “I hate the 80’s” shows will tell you, there was then too.
The nearest comparison I could make to any music which has permeated the mainstream would probably be The Futureheads, a band that I have never really enthused about and yet I really like this, so we will brush over that contradiction as I don’t want my credibility to be called into question! Well not much anyway.
Extremely upbeat and with a very tight sound this is a little gem and I hope to hear more from this lot moving forward. We Are Not All The Same by Good Shoes is out now.
