Thee Unstrung - Who Runs The Show
Thee Unstrung (not sure where the extra ‘e’ comes from) return with a new EP, which if you are giving it it’s full catchy title is Who Runs The Show & Gems From The Cutting Room Floor EP.
Not sure when this is out at the moment as i’ve seen it advertised as January (was November originally) yet on the bands website it says the 12th December (so we’ll go with that eh).
To give you a marker about where the band are coming from, they’ve got that same pent up aggression of The Libertines on their first album, at least on the title track they have anyway. Falling Out Of My Tree is a more gently strummed affair, nearer in style and anger to That’s Entertainment by The Jam.
Things do fall down a bit after that which explains the cutting room floor title, some of the tracks sound half finished or in the worst case, sound like an idea that never made it past a jam.
Still seven tracks and only £2.99 to buy it’s offering decent value for money and considering the last single missed out on the top forty by one place then it might be worth getting to the shops early.
