Echelon - Windows Shut

Well this turned out to be a bit of a surprise and just goes to show that the old cliche lives on….’you can’t judge a book by it’s cover’, as this has one of the dullest sleaves i’ve seen in a long time but is a damn good single!

Released on Alan McGee’s label Poptones, Windows Shut follows on from the dent made by Plus last year, a track that was championed by Steve Lamacq at the time. As you would expect from a McGee release melodies are at the forefront of things but Paul Usher’s vocals are the star attraction here as they soar along with the music.

Yet another young band to add to the list of ‘well worth keeping an eye on’ bands that have sprung to the fore this year.

The single is out now on CD and 2×7” single.
