Buddy Peace - Wolf Diesel Mountain
Mix tapes come and mix tapes go to be honest, the majority of them that you get your hands on are generally ok, but be honest now, which was the last one that you listened to that really grabbed you by the bollocks and sais “i’m different”?
No didn’t think so…but then I would have said the same thing until I got passed a copy of the Buddy Peace and Zilla compilation a couple of years back which pretty much blew my mind.
Since then Buddy Peace has been busy in the mix tape market, he’s helped out Warp Vision on their Watch And Repeat Play DVD and last year helped out Carlo on The Commonwealth Kids Mix and has still found time to put his own latest mix tape together.
Wolf Diesel Mountain could be his best moment yet though, taking the mix tape genre to new levels, he remixes some tracks, re-programmes the beats, samples some and then chops and splices others, it’s brilliantly done and see’s some artists forcefully collaborating as Peace throws them together.
Beg, steal and borrow a copy of this it’s probably the best mix tape you’ll hear this year!
