White Denim - Workout Holiday
White Denim are quickly developing a real reputation for themselves as a live band that are now famous for some chaotically, brilliant, punk-blues performances that really set them apart fropm their peers.
The album Workout Holiday also seems to have been well received and it’s not hard to see why, they throw in aggressively dishevelled blues riffs, with crashing drums on some tracks, then on others will go for a slightly deranged guitar line that is married up to some unusual percussion or other such sound.
Vocally things have a nice rough edge to them, bluesy and with a real rasp, it has to be this way anyway though otherwwise it would be lost amongst the music. As it is they get it absolutely perfect most of the time and picking favourites isn’t easy, but i’ll go for Let’s Talk About It, Heart From Us All and IEIEI.
