Emily’s Heart is the lead track used this time and if i’m honest it’s a little bit pedestrian and lacking the interest that he normally brings to a single release. The frantic Atlantic City on the b-side is better though and does at least add a bit of urgency to proceedings. A decent album track that isn’t a great single, but still a 100% better than anything you’ll…

When the tracks do land though they certainly hit the spot and the new Kiss The Sun EP is no exception with all four varied tracks worth the time and money investing in them. The title track and lead song is big in ambition, building up into an anthem in waiting, while Black & White is a much more sprawling effort,…

No reinventing the wheel for these lads, instead they continue to consistently deliver nice alternative acoustic based tracks (yes with the occasional electric element thrown in as well), making them the volvo of music. That reliability and lack of risk taking does mean they aren’t everyone’s cup of tea which I can appreciate, but Outbursts once again proves their worth to me, it might not hit the heights of the last album which I loved but it’s from…

The reason for the three out of five is that in many ways they don’t have quite enough on display with this album to firmly push them into peoples minds, they sit comfortably between pop (without packing a big enough punch to fall into the mainstream) and the more chilled out orcherstral sounds (without the textures ever being intricate or beautiful enough to wow you) but will easily…

He might be producing smooth RnB and soulful pop that has become the norm in the charts now, but he was at the front of that chart invasion seven years ago and his voice at least is allowed to shine on it’s own merits rather than being over produced and tweaked too much. His self titled debut album is typical of todays RnB / pop fodder, full of vocal effects and auto tuned to within an inch of it’s life, it’s just so bland and lacking n individuality that it makes you wonder if these people really exist or are they merly on some production line straight from the record…
