Kendal Calling All Set To Roll!

Kendall Calling

In recent years, Kendal Calling has built up a reputation as one of the most exciting small festivals in the country. It’s an award-winning, innovative, independent festival based in the Lake District which seems to be growing at an incredible rate. This year, the iconic scenery will welcome major acts like The Cribs and Blondie, showing just efficiently the festival has progressed. Also on the bill are –

Chase and Status
The Levellers
Young Knives
Frank Turner
Echo and The Bunnymen
The Charlatans (acoustic)
Frankie And The Heartstrings
And many more…

Compared with many major festivals, Kendal Calling’s capacity of six thousand people is a little on the small side, but don’t let that put you off. It’s a festival that offers atmospheric crowds, yet still manages to be entirely successful without any unwelcomed commercialisation. The event is bustling with character and is building up a passionate, loyal audience who hold it close to their hearts.

The organisation of a smaller festival is absolutely vital, it’s imperative that things run smoothly. From the moment you enter, to partying all weekend and eventually exiting the site, Kendal Calling ensures that each and every punter is treated exceptionally. From past experience, members of staff been hugely helpful and seem to enjoy themselves as much as you, which isn’t a sentiment that rings true at any of the major festivals.

The weekend offers a range of different stages for people to indulge in. The main stage will once again be welcoming huge names, whilst the Calling Out Stage and the Glow Dance tent offer a more intimate setting which give you a unique, uplifting experience. As always, various acoustic acts will be delighting many people throughout their day. Personally, I’d head down for a genuinely unique experience at the Riot Jazz cafĂ©.

From massages, to an inflatable church, you’ll never be short of something to do at Kendal Calling. This year promises to top all previous years, which in itself is one hell of an achievement. I am yet to find anyone who’s had a negative word to say about the festival, which is one of the reasons why it’s shaping up to be a momentous occasion.

Full ticket and other useful information can be found on the Kendal Calling website (link to the right). The festival runs from the 29th to the 31st July.
