My Life’s A Blur!

This has been one the hardest issues i’ve ever had to put together, while it’s sad what has happened to Michael Jackson of course, why we should celebrate his legacy rather than dwell on his death and latter years has been brilliantly summed up inside this issue by Bobbins, so that wasn’t the hard part for me.

As my favourite band and this issues cover stars, Blur returned to the live scene, complete with Graham Coxon, i’ve tried to put across in three features some of the more obsessive and devoted sides of following a band that you are truly passionate about. The features are based around my travels to three gigs in three days at various ends of the country and I hope i’ve done the band and myself justice with them.

Elsewhere in the features we have a look at the soon to launch Vandal Records label and we end our run of looking at the cooler festivals for you to go to this year with a guide to Lounge On The Farm and the Summer Sundae Weekender.

Interview wise i’ve finally caught up with one of my bands of this year, so sit back and enjoy reading as Scott from KASMs tells us amongst other things that he “didn’t realise how demented Rachael is”...and we also chat with Pagan Wanderer Lu about his album, while Failsafe tell us about writers block and fighting!

Album wise the debut offering from La Roux is under the microscope, as are albums from Duckworth Lewis Method, Chickenfoot, Shaheen Sheik and a lost gem is rediscoverd by Barry when he tells us about the John Power album from 2003.

Aside from stalking Blur i’ve also been out to check We Were Promised Jetpacks on their recent tour and our contributors have taken in gigs by Oasis, The Manic Street Preachers, The Saturdays and Grandmaster Flash.

That folks is issue 76, your editor may just have calmed down from the excitement of Blur’s return by issue 77 if you’re lucky!
