Wax On, Wax Off…To Ibiza!
Nightmares On Wax mainman George Evelyn has recently moved his family over to Ibiza, the result of which is the 6th album of the Leeds outfits career, recorded on route to the sunshine party Island and reviewed here for your pleasure.
Albums are dominating this issue in the main, as well as the cover stars album called Thought So… you’ll also find album reviews of Monkey: Journey To The West, Santogold, The Automatic, The Bled, Matt Roehr and the debut effort from The Bookhouse Boys.
As well as the reviews we have two features for you this issue both of which are related to live music, I guess that makes up for the lack of gig reviews in this issue, although that is down to Fight Like Apes and The Tunics both cancelling shows I had pencilled in for review…the little tinkers.
The first feature is from regular contributor Bantam who gives us an article called Why WE Love Gigs, as always it’s a great read. The second article will be of particular interest to anyone who ever visited the Town & Country Club in Leeds, it’s opening it’s doors again soon under a different guise, so read on to find out a little more about Leeds Academy.
