Hafdis Huld

Brilliantly kooky singer/songwriter Hafdis Huld has returned with a follow up album to Dirty Paper Cup that shows she's definitely growing in confidence and is starting to allow her ear for a catchy tune to come to the fore.

Synchronised Swimmers is an accomplished piece of work, lyrically it's intelligent and rewards you further with each listen as she weaves memorable melodies into into her charming songs.

It's fair to say that Hafdis hasn't tried to over complicate things musically on this album, instead the subtle rhythms gradually come to the fore, but its lyrically where she demonstrates the real flair and in her captivating delivery.

Highlights for me included Winter Sun, I Almost Knew A Criminal, Homemade Lemonade, the title track and the classy opener; Action Man.
