The Beat Surrender 5th Anniversary Club Night

They say that time flies when you are having fun and that’s certainly never been truer than here at The Beat Surrender. Amazingly it’s five years since we started our website, originally designed as a one pager to advertise our first club night at Bradford University.

We have though come a long way from then. We ran our club nights in Bradford for a couple of years and have in the main since then concentrated on building up the website. Phil and Jamie who I started the night with may not be around here anymore but the site has gone on and we’ve got a regular team of reviewers who have all contributed some great stuff over the years.

So with all this in mind it’s time for a celebration methinks! It’s time to get yourself out to one of the best bars in Leeds on Sunday 4th May (it’s a bank holiday so the usual excuses about a Sunday won’t be accepted!), to Milo where from 6pm until late i’ll be spinning (hopefully at the right speed and with no big gaps in between!) the very best in new and old indie, funk, northern soul and a bit of hip-hop.

So expect to hear music from the following and a whole lot more besides…Lack Of Afro, Quantic Soul Orchestra, Los Campesinos!, Supergrass, The Chemical Brothers, DJ Shadow, RJD2, The Hair, The Sunshine Underground, Lyrics Born, These New Puritans, The New Sins, The Small Faces, Blur, Skinnyman, The Harvey Averne Dozen, Goldfrapp, Black Kids, Blood Red Shoes and Neon Neon.

Entry is free and we are hoping you can come and join us to celebrate 5 great years.
